About The Junkluggers of Central VA

Our Story

The Junkluggers of Central VA is a family-owned and operated business of environmentally-aware junk luggers, striving to make the world a better place.

Company owner, Andy Taylor, discovered his passion for sustainable junk removal in the fall of 2016. While in the process of downsizing from their longtime Hanover County family home, Andy and his wife realized there was a major shortage of eco-friendly options in their area to dispose of unwanted items.

Andy saw an opportunity to keep waste out of local landfills by building a network of local charities that would benefit greatly from using second-chance items collected from local homes.

From there, in 2016, The Junkluggers of Central VA was born, and Andy and his team continue to play a large part in helping Richmond and the surrounding cities go green. The team at The Junkluggers of Central VA are proud members of the Richmond community, and hope you'll join them in their goal to eliminate 100% of reusable junk from landfills by 2025!

About Our Owner

Andy Taylor

Andy attended the University of Colorado- Boulder and used his education to leverage a 25-year career in corporate Sales and Marketing Management. Andy spent 17 of these years as a branding executive with a leading international media solutions company, developing teams to create dynamic media campaigns. After years of helping others grow their businesses, Andy saw his early retirement buyout as an opportunity to grow his own!

Andy was searching for an opportunity that was ecocentric and would allow him to give back to the Richmond, VA community that had been so kind to him and his wife over the years. Starting The Junkluggers of Central VA would check off two of the most important boxes Andy had:

• Allowing him to work alongside family & friends to provide a service that truly enables clients
• Allowing him to make a real difference in the community by aiding those in need and the nonprofits who serve them

Andy enjoys making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Andy spends his free time traveling, golfing and cruising in the family Jeep Wrangler. He especially cherishes the moments spent with family, friends and the family labradoodle, Macie-Grey.
